How Can You Check Load Average Usage on Your VPS?

Load Average is a value that indicates how heavily a server’s CPU resources are being utilized and represents the average load of processes that are either running on the CPU or waiting to run. When monitoring server performance, you can check the Load Average values to get an overview of the processing load on the system. To view the Load Average, follow the steps below.

  • First, log in to your customer panel and access your server’s management panel. For more information about accessing the management panel, you can refer to our article, “How to Log In to the VPS Management Panel?”
  • Once you access the server management page, scroll down slightly on the page that opens. You can view the graph titled “Load Average.”

Load Average

  • Load Average shows the average system load on a server over a specific period of time and is displayed as three different values:
    • 1 min: The average load over the last 1 minute
    • 5 min: The average load over the last 5 minutes
    • 15 min: The average load over the last 15 minutes
  • If the Load Average remains high for an extended period and is accompanied by performance issues, the server resources or running applications may need to be examined in more detail.
