When .co.uk domain names are purchased, verification of the domain owner’s contact information is mandatory. This verification process is automatically initiated as part of the domain registration procedure. After the domain name is purchased, a verification (confirmation) email is sent to the domain owner’s email address registered in the system. The contact information must be verified by using the link provided in this email. A sample email is shown below. To complete the domain owner verification process, click the verification link included in the email.
Note: The email may be delivered to the spam/junk folder. Therefore, it is recommended to check all folders.

On the page that opens, you must check the boxes below to confirm domain ownership and declare the accuracy of the information. The required fields to be selected are as follows:

  • Confirmation that the domain owner’s contact information is accurate.

  • For .co.uk domain names, acceptance of the rules of Nominet, the official registry of the United Kingdom.

  • To complete the domain ownership verification, the “Approve” option must be selected.

  • The other options are optional and do not need to be selected. After completing the required selections, click the “Submit” button.

What Happens If Verification Is Not Completed?

If the verification process is not completed within the specified period:

  • The domain name will be suspended.
  • The website will become inactive / inaccessible.
  • Email services associated with the domain name will stop working.

To reactivate the domain name:

  • The approval process must be completed by clicking the link included in the verification email.
  • If the verification link has expired, you can contact our support team to request that the verification email be resent.

After approving the newly received verification email, additional documents or information updates may be requested in the following cases:

  • If the domain owner’s information is clearly incorrect
  • If the registered email address cannot be reached
  • If the provided information violates registration rules

However, if no information update is requested and the verification is successfully completed, the domain name is usually reactivated automatically within a short period of time.
